Montana FAQs / How to Get Here
(It's Easier Than You Think)
Getting to Bozeman is as easy as flying to our International Airport! No stagecoaches needed. We want to make sure you are safe and happy during your stay, so here are some Frequently Asked Questions to keep in mind when you're in our beautiful home state.
Am I in danger of a bear attack?
We have a lot of bears but they aren't in town. Usually. Don't hike with bacon in your pocket. Moose are pretty dangerous too, give them lots of room.
Will Yellowstone Explode?
Yes, eventually. Learn more about our future property values here.
How Can I See Yellowstone with my Family?
Yellowstone is one of our regional treasures - the park is less than an hour from our headquarters in Livingston and an hour and a half from Bozeman. If you'd like to sign up for a backcountry tour guided by one of PFL's own local park experts, sign up here.
Can I fish while attending the summit?
You can fish all year in Montana. October is when the big browns are spawning, so if you catch one-be ready for a fight. Interested in a fishing adventure? Get started here.
Are there good restaurants in Montana?
We may have a 2.5:1 cow-to-human ratio, but southwest Montana brims with great places to get full. You want BBQ? Contemporary South Asian Fusion? Sushi? Upscale ranch fare? We gotcha.
Is alcohol legal?
There are 14 square miles per person in Montana and there's a brewery every square mile. If you like beer, you're in hoppy heaven.
Where should I stay while I'm there?
We already took care of that. Your room will be ready at The Element Hotel, 25 East Mendenhall. King rooms are available the night of October 4 and October 5 for $179/night.
To reserve your room, please call Lindsey Foot at (406) 551-2320 or email Lindsey.foot@elementbozeman.com, and let her know that you are a part of the PFL Big Sky:Big Ideas room block.
Are There No Speed Limits in Montana?
Speed limits are, sadly, part of Montana life now. We are forced to drive a mere 80 miles an hour over mountain passes. Speed limits do not apply to our speed goats (antelope).
Where Can We See Wild Animals?
You can encounter wildlife anywhere in Montana. We mean that. Ever had an elk stick it's head in your kitchen window? But the best viewing is Yellowstone National Park. In October the bison will be gathering in their winter herds and the wildlife viewing will be spectacular (and you'll be the only tourists in the park!) sign up for a guided tour of the park, and network with other attendees from near and far. Families welcome!
Oh! In October the elk herds are gathering near Bozeman, you may see massive herds containing thousands of elk. Drive carefully!
