Vomela Earns a Place on Amazon’s Sustainability Exchange

Sustainability commitments are easy to make. Building the systems that turn them into measurable progress takes years of planning, investment, and follow-through. That’s why we’re proud to share that Vomela’s sustainability journey is now being recognized well beyond our own walls.
Amazon has added Vomela to its Sustainability Exchange—a free resource library that shares tools, playbooks, and real-world examples to help organizations advance their sustainability initiatives and reduce emissions. As part of the coverage Amazon produced both a case study and a video highlighting the progress Vomela has made and the lessons we’ve learned along the way. Amazon also recognized our participation in a LinkedIn post celebrating our inclusion.
Turning Strategy into Action
The case study, Building a Sustainability Strategy from the Ground Up, traces Vomela’s path from the early stages of formal sustainability planning in 2018 through the rollout of initiatives focused on emissions reduction, renewable energy, and sustainability measurement.
Rather than a single headline project, the profile showcases a series of connected milestones: the development of a formal sustainability strategy, investments in renewable energy, greenhouse gas emissions measurement, and the integration of sustainability considerations into everyday business operations. Together, they reflect an approach built to last—one where responsible practices are part of how the business runs, not an afterthought.
Renewable Energy, Generated on Site
One initiative Amazon specifically called out is the rooftop solar array at our St. Paul headquarters—one of Vomela’s most visible sustainability investments. The 3,408-panel, 1.3 MW system generates renewable electricity right where we work, helping reduce the facility’s environmental footprint.
In 2024, the array generated approximately 968 MWh of electricity—enough to power roughly 90 average U.S. homes for a year. The system was designed to offset about 1,200 tons of CO₂ emissions annually.
The People Behind the Progress
In the Amazon-produced video, Vomela’s Director of Responsible Business, Lou Raiola, discusses our sustainability journey and the work that has shaped our approach to responsible business practices.
While the story charts the evolution of the program, it also reflects years of effort from employees across the organization. Operational improvements, data collection, reporting, and innovation from teams throughout Vomela have all contributed to the progress Amazon highlighted.
Why It Matters to the Brands We Serve
For the organizations we partner with, sustainability is increasingly part of how vendors and partners are evaluated—the focus is not just on what gets produced, but also how it gets produced. Being selected as a highlighted case study gives us the opportunity to share our experience with the broader business community and demonstrates how long-term investment and strategic planning can advance both business and environmental objectives at the same time.
Progress That Keeps Moving
Our sustainability work continues to evolve across the company. This recognition reflects the contributions of teams throughout Vomela who support responsible business practices every day, as well as our ongoing commitment to driving meaningful progress for our clients, our communities, and the environment.
