Happy (Re)new Year! Direct Mail Solutions that Deliver

The “2024 Winter Lookbook: Renew in the New Year” is all about purposeful, responsible, and sustainable direct mail solutions available from PFL. The full-color catalog suggests that 2024 is the perfect time to:

  • Refresh your campaigns;
  • Renew your commitment to sustainability and social responsibility;
  • Reimagine what’s possible for your business.

And it all starts with the latest trends, the first of which is products you can feel good about. We’re proud to partner with companies that opt for environmentally and socially responsible products. It all starts with our “Purpose Partners,” which are certified B Corps™ that balance purpose with profit. We opt for working with forward-thinking retail brands that are all-in on environmental and social responsibility.

Give Back for Positive Change

Just as demand for sustainable products continues to grow, so does the desire for products and brands that do more socially. So, the first major trend of 2024 is the appearance of brands with community give-back programs and those investing in initiatives that drive positive change.

For instance, one of these partners is Grounds & Hounds, and we’ve chosen to feature their new (and delicious) Toffee Coffee Bar. Grounds & Hounds’ mission is to eradicate unnecessary animal euthanasia and improve animal welfare, but their passion is to provide an amazing coffee experience every time you brew a cup of G&H coffee! Twenty percent of all G&H profits are deployed to rescue organizations working to make their second-chance mission a reality for pups in need of a helping hand.

Shift to Sustainability

It's a given, today, that sustainable and sustainably manufactured products are the most desirable—which is the second major trend. The demand for sustainable products is a wonderful shift—and one that’s more than a trend. It’s a must-have. This means taking responsibility a step further with supply chain transparency, including certifications from third-party organizations, such as the Forest Stewardship Council®. Products made with materials that are better for the planet—recycled plastic, organic cotton, FSC®-certified bamboo, and more—is the key.

Products such as Klean Kanteen’s Eco Rise 14-oz. Mug is just such an item. Beautiful, functional, and built to last, this mug is made with certified 90 percent post-consumer recycled 18/8 stainless steel. It comes from a family- and employee-owned company, which allows Klean Kanteen to use its business as a force for good. Its drinkware is manufactured using certified 90 percent post-consumer recycled stainless steel, which results in a 40 percent reduction in steel greenhouse-gas emissions.

The Classics Rock!

The third trend we’re seeing is “Nostalgia”—what’s old is new again. Retro designs with modern features are making waves, evoking fond memories and positive associations. Embracing nostalgia can help establish a connection between your brand and a beloved classic or memory. For instance, there’s the 20-oz. Stanley Trigger-Action Travel Mug. This mug lets you fill up and live life on the road without worrying about spills, splashes, or leaks. Just press the button for easy, one-handed drinking.

Further, Stanley contributes more than one percent of their net income to causes related to nature conservation and sustainability; equitable and empowered access to the outdoors; and food security. The brand also donates product and volunteer time and collaborates with values-driven organizations that are creating change in their local communities.

Simple But Sophisticated

The final trend is a simple one: Minimalism. The attraction for minimalistic design, clean lines, and simple (but sophisticated) details continues to be on point. Consumers appreciate products that are both easy to use and aesthetically pleasing.

Take the Noshinku Refillable Pocket Hand Sanitizer. About the size of a business card, the Noshinku is slender and minimalistic and brings fashion to hand sanitizers. The natural ingredients of the sanitizing formula are all clean ingredients and no synthetic fragrances: it’s a hydrating blend of aloe, rosa canina, jojoba, and argan.
